General FAQ
| How quickly can you fix my equipment?
All equipment is repaired inhouse therefore for standard repairs the waiting time is usualy aroud 1-2 days. Repairs that require parts ordered can take up to 1-2 week depending on parts availability. On some repairs we offer same day turnaround for example Laptop Screen Replacements or iPhone Screen Replacements.
Do you stock parts?
Yes we do stock parts. Because of the wide range of equipment we repair it would be impossible to sock every component for every repair type but we use a huge supplier database to source only the highest quality replacement parts for your equipment.
Are your repairs covered by warranty?
Yes we warranty our repairs unless otherwise stated.
Do you fix equipment not purchased from you?
Yes we repair equipment from other suppliers and businesses, in fact we offer trade repairs to may of these businesses. Please note warranties provided by other suppliers and businesses are not transferable.
| Computer Repair FAQs | My computer is old, is it worth fixing?
The value of any equipment is down to the owner and the use they have for it. We will provide you with an estimate for the repair work and hen its up to you if you want to go ahead with the repair.
How much will it cost to repair my computer?
This question depends on the repair type, most repairs cost between €30 and €79 in labour plus the cost of replacement parts.
What do I next to have my computer repaired?
Bring the computer (tower only we dont need mouse, keyboard, leads, monitor) to any of our repair centres in Letterkenny or Stranorlar.
What about my data will I loose any?
No you will not loose any data, we backup your data before we start each repair.
What are some typical repair types we do?
Computer does not boot.
Computer keep restarting
Computer screen is blank.
Computer freezes intermittently
Computer is running very slow.

F1 prompt at boot time repeatedly?
Computer starts only in safe mode.

| Laptop Repair FAQ | How soon can I get my Laptop back from repair?
The answer very much depends on the repair type, Here are some examples;
New Screen - Same Day if required
Power Socket - 1 Week as part will have to be ordered
Virus Removal - 24-48 Hours
Windows Issue - 24 Hours
How much will it cost to repair my Laptop?

What about my data will I loose any?
No you will not loose any data, we backup your data before we start each repair.
I had my Laptop in another repair shop, they say I need a new motherboard but its €300, can you help?
Yes we can. Most repair shops dont do component repair but we do. Bring your Laptop into any of out repair centres Letterkenny or Stranorlar.

| Plasma TV Repair FAQ | My LCD/Plasma screen is smashed, can you repair it?
This is our number 1 question to be asked, the answer is as follows;
Plasma Screen - No, the replacement screens are the price of a new TV therefore not worth fixing.
LCD TV - Yes, we can replace this type of screen. Very few TV companies use their own screens so we have to strip down the set to get the model number and price.
Plasma/LCD what is the difference?
Just google it!!!
Do you repair any Make/Model?
As long as we can get the replacement parts then yes.
| iPhone Repair FAQ | What type of iPhone do you repair?
3g, 3gs and 4. How long does it take?
Normally same day. Will I loose my songs and information?
No, if we needed to restore your iphone we would back it up or inform you before hand.
| Mac Repair FAQ | Do you stock Macbook parts?
Yes we stock some Macbook parts. Others can be ordered with a typical wait time of 1 week.
Are Mac & Macbooks immune from Virus attacks?
No, this is a common misconception in the Mac world. They are not immune to Virus attacks.
Can you repair a Macbook screen?
Yes we can, prices start from €149 including labour.
Will I loose any data during the repair?
No, all data will be backed up before the repair begins.
| Trade Repair FAQ | What is a trade repair?
A trade repair is a repair we carry out for another computer or electrical equipment company for either themselves or for a customer of theirs through the company.
Why would another computer company or repair company use Alphatronic?
We offer component level repair meaning rather than replacing a motherboard for example we can repair the faulty component like a graphichs chip. Its the same for TVs or Consoles. Our trade partners all recieve discount on our standard repair pricing.
Who or what qualifies as a trade repair partner?
Any business selling any type of equipment we repair can use us and benifit from our facilities. We currently repair for Phone Shops, Computer and Laptop Shops, Electrical Shops, Catalogue Shops, Games Shops, Second Hand Computer Shops, Cash Register Companies, Printer Suppliers, and many more business types.
